Reservation Procedure

Reserving this apartment is very easy.

1.  Check the calendar to determine if your proposed dates are available.

2.  Use the Reservation Form below to send us whatever info you want, and we'll respond accordingly.

3.  When you're ready to confirm your reservation, send us your credit card info as your Reservation Guarantee, and we'll confirm your reservation and block off those dates in our calendar.

ABOUT THE RESERVATION GUARANTEE: We are pleased to exchange emails verifying your dates and the rental charges, and answer all of your questions to your complete satisfaction, however...

For obvious reasons, we cannot confirm your reservation, block off the dates in our public calendar and thus remove the dates from consideration by other potential guests UNTIL you provide us with a reservation guarantee in the form of an authorization to charge your credit card as provided herein should you cancel or change your reservation with less than 30 days notice (60 days for resevations of over 14 nights).

Of course, we could operate like many other apartment owners and ask you to send us a rental deposit by Western Union, which is always an option, but using a credit card is easier for everybody.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Your cancellation must be made in writing, signed, and FAXED to us at 1-413-845-2069 prior to midnight of the applicable date.

CANCELLATIONS HAPPEN, WE'LL DO OUR BEST TO HELP: Should you need to change or cancel your reservation less than 30 days prior to your scheduled check in date (60 days prior for reservations of over 14 nights), or fail to arrive and occupy the apartment as scheduled, then we will attempt to mitigate the situation as follows:

  • If we CAN find a substitute guest for some or all of the dates you have reserved, we will discount their rent from your balance and charge your credit card for the difference, not to exceed $1,000.00 USD.

  • If we CAN NOT find a substitute guest or guests, then we will charge your credit card for the amount of your rental not to exceed $1,000.00 USD.

APARTMENT FAQ
1. Why do you require a Reservation Deposit and a Damage Security deposit?

    Your Reservation Deposit serves to cover us for any loss of rental income should you change or cancel your reservation, and thus it is provided to us at the time you make your reservation.

    Your Damage Security Deposit serves to cover any damage to the apartment that may occur DURING your stay, and thus it is provided to us when you check in.

2. Are you going to charge my credit card?

    I have no intention of charging your credit card. Your credit card information is used to secure your reservation and to act as a security deposit. Your credit card will be charge only if necessary and as a last resort in the event that you should be unable to occupy the apartment or if there is any damage to the apartment and/or it's contents during your stay.

    As a practical matter, in the five years that I've been renting my apartments I've NEVER had to charge anyone's credit card for damage to the apartment.

3. What happens if I make a reservation now and then I have to change or cancel my reservation?

    Once you have confirmed your reservation via your credit card, you have committed to renting the apartment, and thus it is subsequently withdrawn from the market and other potential guests are turned away. Nevertheless, you may change or cancel your reservation more than 30 days before your scheduled check in date without charge.

     However, should you need to cancel your reservation with less than 30 days notice or are otherwise unable to occupy the apartment, I will attempt to mitigate the situation as provided in our CANCELLATION POLICY.

4. What if my departing flight is in the evening and I need a late checkout?

    Generally, flights from North America and Europe arrive in Buenos Aires in the morning and depart in the evening. This means that incoming guests usually arrive to occupy the apartment at approximately noon. Therefor, if you are departing on an evening flight, you have three options:

  1. You can pay for an additional night when you reserve the apartment, thus allowing you time to relax in the apartment before your departure.

  2. IF the apartment is not rented for the night of your departure, you can pay a Late Checkout fee as provided in the Rental Information to extend your stay until 7pm.

7. How far is the apartment from the airport?

    This apartment is approximately 30-45 minutes from the international airport in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, and approximately 15 minutes from the domestic airport in downtown Buenos Aires.

8. How do I get from the airport to the apartment?

    Please review and print the Apartment Arrival Instructions.

9. Do you offer an airport pick-up/delivery service?

    Sorry, no, but then there's no need for anyone to schedule an airport pick-up because there are a number of taxi services at the airport that are open 24 hours a day with hundreds of cars and drivers just waiting to take you to your destination.

10. How much street noise is heard from within the apartment?

    This is a hard question to answer because it's so subjective, so I'll do the best I can.

    The apartment is in the middle of the city. All apartments in the middle of any city will experience some street noise. There is "normal" street traffic on the front street, but the street noise is not noteworthy in any sense. Nevertheless, the apartment's balcony has electrically powered roll-down shutters that effectively diminish the street noise to virtually zero. However, if you stand next to the doors and listen quietly, you might hear the muffled sound of cars on the street below.

    In 5 years of renting this apartment, no one has ever commented negatively about the street noise.

11. What is the building's principal use?

    The Building is a RESIDENTIAL USE building.

    RESIDENTIAL USE means that the building is 100% residential apartments.

    MIXED USE means that some apartments in the building are used as professional offices. This is common in older Buenos Aires buildings as there are no zoning laws prohibiting the practice. Nevertheless, these are generally low traffic offices with no detrimental impact to the building's peace and quiet.

12. Does the apartment have a....
